Figured I would show everyone some of the stuff we are currently working on:
Progression Tuning
We re-wrote our progression system this year from scratch. I wanted to make sure that players were ranked on a bell curve so that there was more of a balance in Franchise. Basically the system will group all of the players in the league based on position, career phase, and how well they performed. Once we have all of this data we give progression points to the players to help increase or decrease the attributes that impact their overall rating. Its more complicated than that but it’s really nothing more than your run of the mill bell curve that we all learned about in High School. Here is a screen grab of an excel tool I'm using that my engineers Matt Baylis and Garth Kelly built for me to help tune the feature.

As you can see the curve is pretty steady throughout a couple of years of Franchise. This tool is pretty neat as it helps me tune the heck out of progression with little guessing (which was the way of the past!)
Owner Mode Tuning
As most of you have heard (if not surprise!) Owner Mode is back in Madden. Currently we are adding all of the cities that the user will be able to relocate to. We have to set these coordinates for every city so that they show up in a map on the screen. Pretty tedious stuff, but I am trying to add cool cities that I think you guys might enjoy relocating to. Also we are working with developers John Boocher and Tom Parry to get Finance and Relocation and Staff in order. Lastly is Scouting, which has been a tough one to nail down. We wanted to ensure that you got rewarded for scouting players for weeks leading up to the draft. We are tuning the amount of accuracy you receive for scouting players longer and longer. For instance if you scout Player A for 16 weeks you will get a spot on representation of what the player is capable of. If you only scout the same player for 1 week you will see a significant difference in his potential and skills. I am currently working with another Producer Cedric Carty who is helping us create draft classes that have their own feeling. One year you might get a class that is running back heavy (think 2 years ago with Cadillac, Brown, Benson, Arrington, etc.) while another year you might get QB’s and so forth. I think this will ensure that we have a different feeling every year when you are scouting players.
Create-a-Team Tuning
Right now this is the one I am having the most fun with. I have to go through and setup all of the rules for how you will be able to build a stadium. The reason we do this is so that you don’t get a situation where the stadium has a flaw or doesn’t look NFL realistic. I think you guys will really enjoy creating your own stadium for Relocation.

Well I need to get back to work so until next week Franchise fans stay tuned for more info!
