Thanks to everyone who sent emails and contacted me via EA SPORTS World to share thoughts on the top 5 teams in Madden NFL 08. Today I'd like to take the time to respond to some of your thoughts.
"I do have to say though that the Pats should of been number 1 not Bolts. If I play hard and stick to my game plan LT and the Bolts cant phase me. The Pats are just plain out deadly."

I think a lot of people agree here. When I wrote my top 5 teams list, I used the Madden Challenge as a point of reference. A lot of the initial regional winners used the Chargers, but since then we're seeing the Patriots used in the finals of almost every city. There's little doubt that the Patriots are a tough team to overcome.
"Alright first off I would like to thank you for having the Ravens in your top 5. Normally their lack in offense makes others not even notice them. I use the Ravens all the time, and do well with them too.
But that is not what I really wanted to tell you.. I found this in your top 5. #4 Indianapolis Colts. The Colts may not have quite the offense the Ravens do, but they make up for it in the sheer number of offensive options. I think here you meant to say defense. That is all, thanks for your tips!"

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who feels this way about the Ravens. I guess the phrase "defense wins championships" still holds true. Good catch on my Colts error. I definitely meant to say defense.

I was pretty sure I'd hear from a few fans of NFC teams for leaving them off the top 5. I agree that the Eagles are a tough Madden team. But when I looked at my list, I couldn't find a team that I felt comfortable switching out for the Eagles.
No matter who you think deserves to be in the top 5, there's something to be said for knowing a team inside out as well. I know that I feel most comfortable playing with my Washington Redskins, even if given the choice of taking a team that might be rated higher. Some of the best Madden players I've ever met were die hard fans who stuck with their favorite NFL squad regardless of how they were rated in Madden that year.
